Kirinyaga Central Constituency is located in Kirinyaga County, Central Kenya. Kirinyaga Central is a name of a parliamentary constituency and an administrative sub-county. The constituency is divided into four administrative wards. Mutira ward 18,169 voters, kanyekiini ward 21,863 voters, Kerugoya ward 24,745 voters, Inoi ward 17,272 voters. It has a population of 82,049 registered voters. Kirinyaga Central is known for farming with coffee and tea as the main cash crops. The constituency is also home of the best high schools like Kerugoya Girls High School, Mutira Girls High School, Kerugoya Boys High School and Kamuiru Boys High School among others. Kirinyaga University is the main institution of high learning located in the Constituency. The agricultural activities are fueled by natural rainfall and man-made water reserves for small scale farmers.
